Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Techno College of Engineering Agartala. The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been started its journey in the year of 2014 and acquires competency and expertise during last 10 years. The department is equipped with highly sophisticated lab infrastructures and extended its potential grip in the domain of additive manufacturing, 3 D printing, computer integrated manufacturing, and robotics. The Dept. holds more than hundred research papers indexed in SCI and Scopus, 2 patents and 1 funded project. Our alumnus are placed in both the Govt. and private sectors and successfully working in various organizations like Indian Rail way, State public service commission, NEEPCO, Airtel, JBM Group, Deloit, Bajaj Auto Limited, Byju’s, Probotics, etc.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is at the forefront of technological innovation, encompassing diverse fields such as design, manufacturing, 3D printing, robotics, automation, and IoT. Our curriculum emphasizes a hands-on approach, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. Students delve into the intricacies of mechanical design, utilizing CAD software to conceptualize and create cutting-edge solutions. In the manufacturing realm, they explore traditional and advanced techniques, with a focus on efficiency and sustainability.
3D printing is a cornerstone of our program, with students delving into additive manufacturing processes and material science. Robotics studies encompass the development of control algorithms and the application of robotic systems across industries. Automation is a key theme, with students learning about automated systems integration and process optimization.
In this era IoT plays a pivotal role in our curriculum, with students exploring interconnected devices for data analysis and real-time monitoring. Interdisciplinary collaboration is encouraged, fostering teamwork and communication skills essential for cross-functional projects. Research and innovation drive our department forward, with opportunities for students to engage in cutting-edge research and collaborate with industry partners. Through a blend of theoretical learning and practical experience, our department prepares students to tackle the challenges of the modern engineering landscape.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
PEO1: To enable to acquire knowledge of relevant technologies and multidisciplinary fields including broad social, ethical and environmental issues within which the engineering is practiced. PE02: To prepare the students with competency in carrying out research and analysis in the field of Design, Thermodynamics, Industry and Production Engineering in order to meet the requirements of dynamic market at regional, national and global level. PE03: Student can adopt, maintain and demonstrate the latest developments technologies and work independently on design and development of projects as individual and team leader. PEO4: Student shall generate employment by being an entrepreneur; employable in different government, public and private research organizations utilizing technical communication and report writing skills. PEO5: Student shall pursue higher education in engineering and management; contribute to the society in general by becoming professional engineer and responsible citizen of the nation.

PO 1 Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems. PO 2 Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences. PO 3 Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
